NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
REGARDING CDBG 2020 ACTION PLAN AMENDMENT

Notice is hereby given that the Rochester City Council will conduct a PUBLIC HEARING on Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at 7 p.m. in City Council Chambers in the City Hall, 31 Wakefield Street, Rochester, New Hampshire, regarding the proposed amendment of the City of Rochester’s FY 2020 Community Development Block Grant (“CDBG”) Program Annual Action Plan, which is funded through the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD). Activities under consideration for the FY 2020 Plan amendment include funding for My Friend’s Place generator project and reallocation of Community Action Partnership of Strafford County funds for an emergency winter homeless shelter.

REGARDING CDBG 2020 ACTION PLAN AMENDMENT

In accordance with federal regulations governing the use of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds, public input will be solicited for 30 days, beginning on July 22, 2019, to comment on the proposed CDBG FY 20 Annual Action Plan amendment. The CDBG Annual Action Plan identifies how the City plans to use the federal money during the next fiscal year to meet the goals and objectives that were approved by the City Council in the Five-Year Consolidated Action Plan FY 2015-2020. 

Activities under consideration forthe FY 2020 Plan amendment include funding for My Friend’s Place generator project in the amount of $5,000 and reallocation of Community Action Partnership of Strafford County funds for an emergency winter homeless shelter in an amount up to $5,000.

Public Comment Period

The draft Annual Action Plan amendment will be available for a 30-day public review and comment period beginning July 22, 2019, after which time all comments will be forwarded to the U.S. Department of HUD. Comments on the draft FY 20 Annual Action Plan amendment can be directed to Community Development Coordinator Julian Long via email to julian.long@rochesternh.net; via telephone to 603-335-7519; or via postal mail to the Office of Economic & Community Development, 31 Wakefield Street, Rochester, NH 03867. A PUBLIC HEARING will be held on June August 6, 2019 at 7 p.m. in Council Chambers at City Hall. Citizens are invited to attend this hearing to comment on the proposed Annual Action Plan.
