Notice of Public Comments Period - FY 2021 Action Plan Second Amendment

NOTICE OF PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD

In accordance with federal regulations governing the use of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds, public input will be solicited for 20 days, beginning on November 19, 2020, to comment on the proposed CDBG FY 2021 Annual Action Plan allocation of CARES Act funds. 

Funding available for COVID-19 preparation, prevention, and response is $146,576. Projects under preliminary consideration for funding include but are not limited to: homeless shelter services, youth afterschool programs, employment programs, and meal delivery services. It is estimated that 90% of funding will serve low to moderate income residents.

Public Comment Period

The draft CARES Act CDBG allocations will be available for a 20-day public review and comment period beginning November 19, 2020, after which time all comments will be forwarded to the U.S. Department of HUD. The Annual Action Plan, Consolidated Plan, and draft CARES Act allocations can be viewed by visiting the City of Rochester’s Community Development Division website at https://www.rochesternh.net/community-development-division/pages/action-plans or requesting a copy from Community Development Coordinator Julian Long via email at julian.long@rochesternh.net or via telephone at 603-335-7519.

A PUBLIC HEARING will be held on December 15, 2020 at 6:30 p.m. in Council Chambers at City Hall. Citizens are invited to attend this hearing to comment on the proposed CARES Act allocations.
