The City of Rochester’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program is funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. The program aims to assist low- and moderate-income residents of the City of Rochester through funding public services, economic development initiatives, low-income housing rehabilitation, and public facilities projects. As part of the program, the City of Rochester distributes subgrants to non-profits and other organizations that perform work related to the City’s CDBG goals.

Tentative priorities identified for FY 2017-2018 include affordable housing initiatives, employment and vocational services for unemployed and underemployed residents, treatment and services for residents with mental illnesses, substance abuse treatment and prevention, and Housing First and rapid rehousing for chronically homeless persons and homeless veterans. More information on City of Rochester community development priorities under the current Consolidated Plan (FY 2015-2020) is available on the Community Development Division webpage at http://www.rochesternh.net/community-development-division/pages/action-plans.
