Organic Gardening Series

Join us for this free class on organic gardening. Learn everything you need to know to have a thriving garden this year!

A 3-session course held on Mondays, April 15th, 22nd, and 29th, from 6pm to 8pm

This class will cover practical tips on how to create a new garden, soil preparation, seed starting, planting techniques, container gardening, cultural techniques during the growing season (such as watering, fertilizing, pest and weed control), how plants and soil interact, succession planting, planting multiple crops in the same space, how to compost, crop rotation, cover cropping, and mycorrhizobials.

There will also be discussions about our current food system, including pesticides,  globalization and famine, and organic certification.

The instructor is Vince Cirasole, a resident of Rochester who is an experienced teacher, commercial vegetable grower, organic growing enthusiast, and author of, “How to Grow a Vegetable Garden that Cannot Fail.”
