City of Rochester Recreation Facilities and Parks Update – 5-14-20

Community Center Tennis and Pickleball Courts Squamanagonic Disc Golf Course are open, other structures remain closed.

    THE FOLLOWING AREAS ARE CLOSED:

THESE AREAS ARE NOT DISSINFECTED AND SHALL NOT BE USED:

  • All city and school playgrounds(physical structures, including swings)

·     Hanson Pines basketball courts

·     Picnic tables 

·     Pavilions and bandstands

·     Any other physical objects, structures or equipment

 

GREEN SPACE, PARKS & TRAILS REMAIN OPEN:

HELP KEEP THESE SPACES OPEN BY FOLLOWING THESE RULES:

·     If you’re not feeling well, stay home. 

·     Wearing of facemasks is strongly encouraged. 

·     If you belong to a group considered more vulnerable to the virus, consider additional precautions.

  • Patrons must practice social distancing and stay 6 feet apart from others.
  • No activities or gatherings of more than 10 people.
  • Avoid parks/trails that are crowded.
  • Avoid touching surfaces/equipment, as they are not being disinfected. 

 

COMMUNITY CENTER TENNIS/PICKLEBALL COURTS & SQUAMANAGONIC

  • These two facilities will re-open on May 18th.

·     Only touch your own equipment.

·     Skip high-fives/fist bumps in favor of other contactless celebrations.

  • Do not gather in parking lot before or after you play. 

·     Wash hands/use hand sanitizer frequently and avoid touching face.

 

COMMUNITY CENTER TENNIS & PICKLE BALL COURTS

·     Senior (50+) use only Mondays, Wednesday and Thursdays 9am-11am.

·     Single matches only.

  • Use designated courts for each sport. Courts will be labeled accordingly.

 

SQUAMANAGONIC DISC GOLF COURSE

  • Reminder: Squamanagonic is closed on Fridays to support training of local law enforcement.
  • Stick to solo rounds as much as possible. Keep your group size to 3 or less.
  • Consider “gimme” putts to minimize your contact with shared surfaces.
  • Wait in your car for group to tee off, and then start play once they have cleared.
