What is the process for Zoning Amendments?
Citizens may petition the Rochester City Council for amendments to the Zoning Ordinance. There are two types of amendments:
- A Map Amendment changes the zoning district for one or more lots of land; and,
- A Text Amendment changes the written specifications in the ordinance pertaining to uses, dimensions, and other standards. Blank petitions are available in the Planning Department.
