A Message on Rec Camp in the Time of Covid:

Our goal is to offer the most 'normal' experience as possible for campers, while maintaining proper health and safety guidelines for Covid-19.

Despite the challenges of Covid-19 over the past year, our department has adapted traditional programs and created new ones to meet existing and new needs of our community.   Our team is well versed in safely managing programs, people and facilities during these challenging times. We are dedicated to staying up to date on Covid-19 related practices and guidelines so we can continue to safely offer recreation opportunities to our community.

Our team is working closely with the NHRPA (New Hampshire Recreation & Parks Association) and city health and safety leaders to stay informed on the CDC and  State of NH Safer at Home Day Camp guidelines. We are using these guidelines to help us plan for camp this summer. To learn more about these guidelines, please visit the state website here.

While we do not anticipate major changes to our current camp plan, in the age of Covid-19, we do need to remind everyone that our programs are always subject to change.

Rec Camp Overview

At Rochester Rec, we believe the recipe for a great summer is simple: provide a safe environment, keep kids outside, active and having fun! Role model staff engage campers in a day full of outdoor activities, games, swim and crafts. Camp takes place rain or shine, with indoor locations at each campsite. For over 60 years Rec Camp has provided generations of Rochester youth with positive childhood experiences and a sense of belonging.
