Update #6 (9:20 a.m., 4/7/20) City of Rochester Announces Business Microloan Program, Reminds Residents of Recreation Space Closures

They City of Rochester’s Emergency Operations Center announces that city and school-owned playgrounds and other equipment in public spaces, as well as athletic courts, are closed and members of the public are prohibited from using them until further notice.

General open spaces, like parks and trails, remain open to enable residents to get outdoors for exercise. However, any physical equipment or structures within those spaces are off-limits to the public.

Park visitors should be aware that benches are not sanitized or cleaned, and they are therefore urged to either avoid using benches or exercise extreme caution when using benches or touching any other shared surface.

The following recreation and park spaces are closed until further notice:

All city and school playgrounds (physical structures), Squamanagonic Disc Golf Course, Hanson Pines basketball courts, Tennis courts, Pickleball courts, Picnic tables, Pavilions and bandstands, Any other physical objects, structures or equipment.
