PUBLIC NOTICE – FY 18-19 CDBG Action Plan AMENDMENT - Public Comments Period and Public Hearing

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

Notice is hereby given that the Rochester City Council will conduct a PUBLIC HEARING on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at 7 p.m. in City Council Chambers in the City Hall, 31 Wakefield Street, Rochester, New Hampshire, regarding the proposed amendment of the City of Rochester’s FY 2018-2019 Community Development Block Grant (“CDBG”) Program Annual Action Plan, which is funded through the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD). Activities under consideration for the FY 2018-2019 Plan amendment include funding for Tri-City Co-op peer to peer mental health support services, SOS Recovery Center substance use disorder recovery services, and Cross Roads House homeless shelter services.

REGARDING CDBG 2018-20189 ACTION PLAN AMENDMENT

In accordance with federal regulations governing the use of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds, public input will be solicited for 30 days, beginning on May 22, 2018, to comment on the proposed CDBG Annual Action Plan amendment. The CDBG Annual Action Plan identifies how the City plans to use the federal money during the next fiscal year to meet the goals and objectives that were approved by the City Council in the Five-Year Consolidated Action Plan FY 2015-2020. 

Activities under consideration for the FY 2018-2019 Plan amendment include funding for Tri-City Co-op peer to peer mental health support services in the amount of $3,865.05, SOS Recovery Center substance use disorder recovery services in the amount of $5,000.00, and Cross Roads House homeless shelter services in the amount of $12,000.00.

Public Comment Period

The draft Annual Action Plan amendment will be available for a 30-day public review and comment period beginning May 22, 2018, after which time all comments will be forwarded to the U.S. Department of HUD. A PUBLIC HEARING will be held on June 5, 2018 at 7 p.m. in Council Chambers at City Hall. Citizens are invited to attend this hearing to comment on the proposed Annual Action Plan.
