Water Meter Replacement 2009
Dear Rochester Water Customer:

The City of Rochester has contracted out the replacement of the City's water meters as part of their Meter Replacement Program. Not all meters will be replaced during this process. We are starting with the larger meters and then we will be progressing to the older meters. You will be contacted if you fall into these categories.

Vanguard Utility Service, Inc. is the name of the contractor that will be working on this project. All Vanguard service vehicles are clearly marked. All employees will have an identification tag. The average installation takes about 20 to 30 minutes. A meter technician will replace your old water meter with a new one.

Because the meters are located inside your home, you will be contacted to schedule an appointment with Vanguard. It will be necessary for the installer to turn off your water for a short time while your meter is replaced. The Vanguard technician will knock on your door to attempt to notify you when they are on site.

If you have any questions about the Meter Replacement Program, please call the City of Rochester, Customer Service office at 332-3110.

You may see a door knob hanger that looks like this.  If so, you can contact Vanguard Utility Service at the following number to schedule an appointment: 603-781-0217.   Or, you can set up your appointment online at http://www.vusinc.net/schedule2.html
