Did you know that the Rochester Public Works Department plows approximately 150 miles of road and nearly 80 miles of sidewalk? Here are a few tips to assist DPW to ensure safe and accessible roadways and sidewalks:
* Do not plow snow from your driveway across the road - not only is this dangerous it is against the law!
* Do not block the sidewalk with snow
* During a snow or ice storm - if you don't need to go out, stay home
* Rochester has an overnight parking ban from November 1 to April 1 between the hours of midnight and 6:00 am. Please move vehicles off the street as early as possible during a storm.
* Remove items from the road such as basketball hoops, large rocks, fences, etc.
